Rachel thought she was going out for Friday dinner. Steve had other plans. We decided to re-tell their sweet proposal story for their engagement session.
On their way to Stokehouse Q at South Bank, Rachel was chatting about her week at work when they arrived at one of the ponds. Steve led her to a spot with an easel on a canvas by the water. When she first saw the easel, Rachel thought they were intruding on a painter. Then she had a closer look at the canvas...
It was a photo of one of the most meaningful places in Rachel's life: the meadow in the UK where her grandparents who worked on farms used to share lunch. It was the spot where her grandfather and grandmother spent time falling in love and where he eventually proposed to her grandma.
When Rachel looked at Steve again, he was on one knee, looking up at her while he proposed... Rachel let the tears flow freely and said yes. But that was not the end of Steve's sweet plans. He had champagne and chocolates ready by the pond AND Stokehouse Q was filled with Rachel and Steve's closest friends and family who were there to celebrate. Completely overwhelmed, Rachel let herself get carried away in a night full of love, laughter and tears of joy.
Rachel & Steve, thank you for sharing your beautiful story with us. Steve has set the bar high for other guys out there is what I reckon. We can't wait for your wedding in April. As Rachel said in her email today: Only 66 days left!
