From the moment we met Talia at our local café in Red Hill, we knew we would thoroughly enjoy celebrating and capturing her elopement. Because Mike's family lives overseas and because they wanted to keep it intimate, they decided to elope with just us, their celebrant Hayley and Talia's sister, Ella, and Mike's best friend, Kevin. As their venue, they had chosen a gorgeous rental at the end of a long and winding road, aptly called 'Journey's End'.
Talia shared with us how important it was to acknowledge their family and friends on the day, near and far, so we talked about a few ideas for that. In the end, they set up a gorgeous table at the tree where they had their ceremony, which featured a collection of vintage frames holding portraits of their loved ones. They said YES under a big tree in the yard in a ceremony that made all of us tear up for it's tenderness and honesty. Their personal vows to each other were very special to witness and, as always, made both of us remember our own beautiful wedding, so we peeped at each other over our cameras from time to time, throwing silent kisses, whilst capturing the magic in the air between these two.
During our meeting with Talia, we had also decided that Tina will look after her flowers, so it was an extra beautiful day for us, starting with a stroll to the fresh flower markets, followed by a few hours of making wreaths, hair pieces and bouquets in our garden, accompanied by some sweet tunes and good coffees.
Tina was a bit nervous because for this elopement no stylist was around and Talia had full faith in her doing her hair! With Ella's help, the wired floral pieces were popped in perfectly in a romantic do that just had some streaks of hair pinned back, topped by the wired flower piece that Tina had prepared. Pheeeuw!
We treasured that day from start to finish and were so grateful that we get to spend our lives like this now. Together, creative, on the road, in contact with fabulous, blissful people and getting to bring others joy through our photography work. Thank you for letting us share this momentous day in your lives with us, Talia & Mike. We know you will have a wonderful and happy life together and wish you lots of laughter and giggles along the way.
xx Tina & Doruk
