What a beautiful day we had a few weeks ago for Andrew & Renee's Sunshine Coast beach wedding. Think moody skies, hearts full of joy, a show-stopping Lillian West dress and gentle waves rolling in from the ocean...
We met Andrew and Renee last year for their sunset engagement photography session at stunning Moffat Beach, just around the corner from their planned wedding location in the Happy Valley at Caloundra (click here to see their engagement photos, which also featured on their wedding invites).
They say people who love animals are the best kind of people. There must be something to it. These two lovebirds have spent most of their lives lovingly looking after the area's finest race horses and their love for some of their horses is probably only met by their love for each other.
As individuals and as a couple, Renee and Andrew have blown us away by being exceptionally selfless, caring and full of calm and steady joy - the kind of love that is not being shouted from the rooftops, but is immediately felt by everyone around them. From our first meeting last year onwards we knew we would have a wonderful day with these two - and we did!
Renee told me she didn't go for any particular theme or style when I complimented her on the choice of understated colours and accessories for her day. I was so in love with her bouquet made of gum nuts, white chrysanthemums and babies breath. Dark minty greens and whites - perfect simplicity with so much taste. The reception tables had personalised chocolates waiting for all guests, marking their seats in the sweetest kinda way. We even got our own with our little names on them. So special.
Before I step to the side so you can enjoy their photos, I would like to mention that our head chef, I mean photographer (Doruk) couldn't help but peep into the kitchen to see and snap what was cooking. Doruk is the best chef I know. I am not just saying that because he is my husband. He is obsessed with food and fiddly recipes, so he always has to become BFs with the chefs at our weddings. At Renee & Andrew's reception at local favourite Tides Waterfront Dining, Doruk connected with the busy chefs and (I don't know how) proceeded to capture a #saltbae moment when one of the chefs did the final touches on the main course.
Renee & Andrew - thank you for letting us share this amazingly exciting time in your lives. We are grateful for all the beautiful moments and will cherish our own memories of your wedding day forever. We were amazed by your generosity in letting us sit and eat with your guests and enjoyed chatting with all your hilarious cousins (excellent seating!). Thank you for welcoming us with love and warmth on the day and for showing your appreciation of us as humans and our work for you as your photographers throughout the past year. We wish you all the happiness in the world and look forward to staying in touch.
