In my lap, I had a bunch of burgundy chrysanthemums, some Geraldton wax and foliage… On my timer, I had 40 minutes of extra bumpy roads along the hills ahead to create a bouquet and floral wreath as a little gift for Abbie to wear for her engagement shoot.
Any excuse to stroll around Fitzroy! Guys, we don’t know how we get lucky like that, but our couples are simply the best humans. This was the first time we met Reza & Derek in real life and after an hour of graffiti explorations we found ourselves giggling over coffees and plotting the details of the wedding day.
In just one more sleep, Lucy & Michael will get married, so we’re getting super excited. Here are their engagement highlights. We went to the Mount Coot-tha Botanic Gardens for Golden Hour strolls and Lucy had her hair and makeup trial with the lovely Lucie from Bella Brides.
“I saw your on Instagram at about 2am when I was browsing and couldn’t sleep, and I was so impressed that when I woke up I wondered if I had just dreamed about finding the perfect photographers for our day. Luckily, I took a screenshot of your home page before falling asleep, so I’m contacting you in hopes that your many travels bring you near the Yarra Valley in October 2018!” ~ Beverly
You know it's a good day in the office when you're lying on your belly on some wet sand staring into the rising sun. I am not a morning person as such, but sunrise shoots get me so excited. Notice the pale blue and pink light in some of the shots, just before the sun gets stronger and dips everything into its deep orange morning rays. The pale phase is my favourite and it lasts for only 10 minutes or so... before that, it's kinda dark and after that, the dustiness is all gone and it's getting all orange. I got to the beach when it was still pitch black, just to make sure I don't miss the pale phase.
Autumn is our favourite thing and we so love being able to experience it again now that we’ve started working in Victoria every other month on weddings and on seasonal photography for our favourite - Tahbilk Winery. Jacqui & Chris from Melbourne had their wedding booked with us for later next year and wanted to do an engagement session, so we invited them to have lunch & wine at the café and then come and meet us to take some engagement photos. We hope you enjoy seeing them run through the vines as much as we do.
“It took me a long time to realise that I am happiest not at parties or the dinners or the shows but at home with you and just our books, our movies and our tea. And wherever we go for now and forever, we will bring this happy with us for home lives inside us now wherever together we go.” • ~ ATTICUS POETRY
Meila & Dat's engagement session was a sweet reminder that sometimes less is more... that you don't always need props, crazy outfits or oceans of flowers to create some magic. These two beautiful souls filled our camera frames with their overflowing joy of simply being in each other's arms and we all can't wait to have more fun in June once their wedding comes around. These two sweethearts surprised us with a bottle of champagne when we met for their engagement session at groovy Old Petrie Town, so obviously we were off to a fabulous start. There were lush florals, confetti, lots of giggles and a gorgeous historic backdrop.
Puppy Jake, flowers, milky skies and gorgeous ocean sunrise vibes made this morning a bit special, indeed. Congratulations on your engagement, Beccii & Nathaniel! Keep an eye open for their Bunya Mountain wedding coming up this October, woohooo!
This adorable session features some loved-up parents-to-be, cute gender announcement signs and a wild mumma wreath with flowers for Amy from us. Baby Walters had a chuckle, making us work double because by the time the shoot came around, it had still not revealed it's gender during the last ultrasound.
Blue thistles, peacock feathers, wheat, straw flowers and puppy Lulu made this engagement session a perfectly natural & mystical affair! Florals lovingly prepared by us (wild bouquet, double flower wreath & petal cones).
The Brisbane Powerhouse has never looked this good! These two love doves came all the way from Townsville to have a fun day out with us. If you're on the (camera-)shy side, definitely have an engagement photography session before your wedding. It will make you feel much more relaxed on your wedding day.
Loved exploring Moffat Beach at sunset with this gorgeous couple. We created some beautiful photos for their wedding invitations, which we looked after from design to print. Thank you for a beautiful day out together!
Engagement session at Clandulla Cottages near Mount Tamborine. Such a stunning spot! Give me peacocks, blistering sunsets and a happy couple any day and I shall have no regrets on my deathbed. Or, wait... there are regrets! We should have eaten all those picnic things. Yep.
